Today’s Fredericksburg retains its German roots, but is all Texas in its approach to the laid back good life. Fredericksburg is a small town with a soft layer of sophistication at the crossroads of peach orchards, vineyards, wildflower trails and longhorn herds. Casa Grande and the Sundown Suite are two parts of a showcase home featured in the New York Times and Parade magazine for its straw bale construction. The house and the parking are completely off street, giving an authentic feeling of the country while being just blocks from Main Street. The 1100 sq ft covered patio with cedar posts, ceiling fans offers lots of seating areas including front porch rockers. There is a large outdoor kitchen with Argentine style grill (wood & charcoal), a cast iron smoking grill (wood & charcoal) and a standard gas grill. There is a table which will easily seat 10 for a great family meal. You will also enjoy an ample outdoor seating area which is perfect for watching the Bocce court activity or deer, horses and hummingbirds while sipping your morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. The house is designed for casual comfort and easy indoor or outdoor entertaining.
The house sleeps 12 in beds, 2 in futons and 4 more guests can be added with cots and 6 more with blow up mattresses on frames for a total of 20. Please ask the housekeeper for the cots and blow up mattresses prior to your arrival. Rate shown is for 8 guests plus a charge of $50/night per guest over 8.

Nandina House is a comfortable mini-home, simply perfect for putting down roots while in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Nandina House offers an open floor plan with a king size bed, comfortable den, full kitchen, dining area, laundry room with washer-dryer (for long term stays), enclosed air conditioned sun room with a full sized futon for 1 or 2 extra friends, and best of all your own cedar-stay fenced courtyard with private hot tub, BBQ grill (charcoal) and outdoor seating! You will enjoy all the comforts of home, and then some! Guests enjoy a wall-mounted 42″ plasma TV with ROKU stick, and a lovely bath with a Tuscan-style tile shower. There are also two outside sitting areas for enjoying the lovely Texas weather.

Sonora in Spanish means “Pleasant Sounding” and as soon as you walk into this cottage, you will not only see what it means, but also feel what it means. The Sonora Cottage is a private cottage with combined bedroom and sitting area that is waiting to help you unplug, unwind, and enjoy yourself. This beautifully decorated Spanish style cottage is equipped with a full kitchen, gorgeous walk-in shower, soothing hot tub, and a king-size bed. The cottage is surrounded with southwest-style landscaping and offers you all the modern conveniences with a county-like setting. Sonora Cottage is a short drive back to our wonderful Main Street area and is ready to help you have a wonderful weekend in Fredericksburg.
